The Crawwwwwwwl!

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I dragged my injured knee around the Camden Crawl this weekend, running up and down the streets, jumping on and off buses to get to see as much as I could that’s just how musically greedy I am :-) . Sor here are two big new pages of images for your pleasure with these people in it:

Day One:
Art Brut, The Baddies, Bleech, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Filthy Dukes, Idlewild, Plugs, Selfish C*nt, Teeth, Tommy Sparks, The Virgins, The Von Bondies, Wire, The YeahsYeahYeahs

Catch up before the Crawl!

Friday, April 24th, 2009

A little bit of catch up as we’re only a few hours away from the heat of Camden Crawl and that is going to be a busy one! Last night first of all with a band I really like …And You Will KNow Us By The Trail Of Dead at the Electric Ballroom in Camden.

A few days before for some truly loud and raw emo punk from New Yorkers Bridge And Tunnel. I was really blown away these guys are really good live and definitely have their own sound, check out their album on No Idea rcds. That was at ‘Staying South’ at the Windmill. By the way if you are not at the Crawl tonight, tonight at the Windmill will play the amazing Robocop Kraus, one of my very favourite bands of all times!

Now for the set I left in the hard drive for a while, the legendary Goth Rockers Sisters of Mercy with a Andrew Eldritch in the smoke at the London Forum. And finally I also have put online the sets of Stiff Little fingers at the Forum and Jason Mraz at  the Hammersmith Apollo. Enjoy!

Back in Black, after 8 years!

Friday, April 17th, 2009

It started for me at Waterloo when dozens of disgruntled people with AC/DC T-shirts were leaving a stranded Jubilee line train and an inaudible voice on speakers was trying to say that we had to find ourselves another way of getting to the O2, panic! A train and a bit of running around Greenwich when all buses and cabs were packed then some guy stopped the cab he was in for me to jump in (and we picked another running AC/DC-goer on the way), and there we were just in time after all. When all lights went off the show started with a pretty hot cartoon where Johnson and Young are in a crazy train until a crash and there they are, playing Rock’n'Roll Train with this huge smoking locomotive behind them, the Aussie rock dinausors AC/DC for their first UK tour after 8 years!

Iain Archer

Monday, April 6th, 2009

I had the pleasure to meet Iain Archer and his wife Miriam Kaufmann who both took the stage at Bush Hall last Wednesday April 1st, supported by Foreign Slippers and The New York Fund (sets to come soon, when I find the time!). Very nice people and a quality show, Iain Archer’s new album ‘To The Pine Roots’ is out now by the way.
