A series of new work here to start the week with an update.

Some live first with L.A.’s all girl band The Like performing two brilliant shows in London. The first at the Institute of Contemporary Art which we filmed and the series of clips will be very soon on the Loud Pixels Live collection. Here is a teaser with the song “Why When Love Is Gone”.

The next night they were playing in the cosy Islington pub and trendy venue the Old Queen’s Head.

Another live gig with former Razorlight’s Andy Burrows and his new band I Am Arrows playing the legendary 100 Club on Oxford Street. Note that the 100 Club is once again under threat of closure, mainly due to the ever increasing rent imposed to the club by the building’s owners, join the Facebook support page.

When an iconic politician meets a rock star..

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Very exciting times again this time no loud music, ecstatic crowd or 3 songs no flash but a quiet afternoon in the cosy living room of one of the most influential living British politician of the left, the Right Honourable Tony Benn MP, president of the Stop The War Coalition, I was collaborating with the very good web magazine The Quietus on an exceptional interview they set up where the interviewer was non else than Nicky Wire, main song writer for the Welsh, unconditionally leftist band Manic Street Preachers. The interview was compered by journalist (and DJ) Simon Price and I was helped by my good friend, photographer Jon Challicom. As soon as the introductions were done and before we even started rolling the discussion had started. When usually the rockstars are leading the show and excitement is around them, it was funny to witness the rock star being the one being excited and nervous about meeting such a respected and brilliant man. Tony Benn has been through a century at the center of all sorts of political events, from meeting Ghandi (at the age of 10), to serving as a pilot in WWII and renouncing to his peerage in order to represent his electors at the Commons, and when you meet him in person you can really feel that he is an exceptional character, with the sharpest mind even at 85, yet warm and welcoming like he was your grandad. Great experience.

The Nicky Wire interviews Tony Benn video is now online on The Quietus website at www.thequietus.com!

Also on the news, our (Burning Head) music video The Emancipation has been shortlisted in the 10 finalists for the Renderyard Film Award 2010. The 6th Renderyard Short Film Festival will take place in London on the 15th and 16th of October.

Some more live music video coming up very soon on here and on www.loudpixelslive.net!
